Swaziland: Hospital Sells Body Parts to Witch Doctors, Accusers Say

The second-largest hospital in the Southern African country of Swaziland may be operating a black market in human body parts used in magic spells, according to claims made by a reverend and others. The organ trade at Raleigh Fitkin Memorial Hospital in the city of Manzini has been described as “an open secret” by critics such as Rev. Grace Masilela. Accusers say people come to the hospital from neighboring South Africa to buy bones, hearts, brains and other organs. Read more here.

Zambia: Four Mental Patients Killed in Ndola

11th October: Four elderly people suffering from mental illness and other disorders have been killed this year in Ndola for allegedly practising witchcraft. Ndola District Commissioner Rebby Chanda said the Government was concerned with the rising number of elderly people being brutally beaten and killed after being suspected of practising witchcraft. South Africa: Killers ‘Planned to Sell Their Souls’ Following Satanic Ritual

10th October. In 2011, 18-year old Kirsty and her 14-year old friend was dosed in petrol and set alight in a satanic ritual in Johannesburg. Her 14-year friend managed to survive, however Kirsty sadly died from her burns in hospital. Linden Wagner, Harvey Isha, Robin Harwood, and Courtney Daniels are charged with murdering Kirsty Theologo and attempting to murder her friend, and with assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. Kenya: Kilifi Man, 79, Lynched for Witchcraft

October the 11th: A 79-year-old man has been stoned to death and his body burnt at Kakanjuni village in Kilifi county. Chea Mwiru was killed by a mob when he was travelling from his rural home in Sokoke Ganze to his other home in Tezo on Wednesday afternoon. Read more here.

South Africa: Councillor who Set ‘Witch’s’ House Alight Sent to Jail

7th of November:  The president of a political party in Mpumalanga, who is also a councillor, has been sentenced for the second time this week on charges relating to terrorising community members. Delta Mokoena – the president of the Bushbuckridge Residents Association (BRA) and a councillor in the Bushbuckridge local council – was sentenced to two years imprisonment today in the Acornhoek Magistrates’ Court for accusing a resident of practising witchcraft and setting his house alight. Nigeria: Man Kills Mother Over Witchcraft Allegation

10th of November: A young man from Kaduna Vom in Jos South Local Government Area has been nabbed by the police for killing his mother on allegation of witchcraft while other suspects whose offences ranged from child trafficking, armed robbery to cow rustling. Read more here.

Zambia: Man Hacked to Death on Witchcraft Suspicion

A FORTY-THREE-YEAR-OLD man has been hacked to death by unknown people on suspicion that he was practising witchcraft. Muchinga Province Commissioner of Police Lemmy Kajoba said yesterday that an axe was found stuck in the neck of the victim at the time police picked the body. Read more here.
