Zimbabwe: Drama as Top Pastor Embroiled in Witchcraft & Sex Storm

A Masvingo senior pastor of the ZION Apostolic church, Bishop Peter Makamba, had an alleged affair with a congregant, now married but who he has begun pursuing to resume the relationship, a report states.

There was pandemonium in the church on Monday when congregants were shown a text message reportedly sent by him begging for sex and reminding the woman (name withheld) of an enchantment which allegedly ties her to him.

Nigeria: Enugu Ritual Killing – These Men Raped, Killed And Cut Off Lady’s Breasts And Privates

Things seem to be falling apart in Igbo Eze North Local Government Area of Enugu State, following the  discovery of the decomposing body of a lady, four days after she was declared missing.
The deceased, Ngozi Eze, 35, reportedly went to see off a friend on March 9, 2014 and was on her way back when her assailants  accosted her in a bush path,gang-raped her and strangled her to death. And as  if that was not enough, her breasts and private part were  chopped  off.

Australia: Northern Territory government to repeal centuries-old witchcraft, tarot card law

The Northern Territory Government is repealing old legislation which makes tarot card reading and witchcraft illegal. A recent review of the Territory’s Summary Offences Act found a centuries-old law citing anyone caught conjuring spells or predicting the future could face one year in prison.

The Witchcraft Act of 1735 has been inherited from Britain and has since been repealed in most other parts of the Western world.

Malawi: Fighting Witchcraft with Ndodo Yya Afiti

The existence of witchcraft in Malawi is still debatable. The Association of Secular Humanism executive director George Thindwa has always insisted that witchcraft is a figment of peoples’ imaginations. Thindwa has challenged witches to bewitch him, but none have stepped up to the challenge.

But, despite Thindwa’s efforts to rubbish the practice, incidents linked to witchcraft have not spared the lives of many Malawians.

I just returned from Kpatinga, another village in northern Ghana where alleged witches take refuge. One unique thing about witchcraft belief in Northern Ghana is that there are safe spaces for ‘witches’. A ‘witch’ must not be suffered to die as the scripture says. There are villages that welcome and rehabilitate victims of witchcraft accusations.

Tanzania: Juju is Bad, fine, but our league needs best referees

Reports that a match referee demanded to inspect the inner parts of a player he had suspected was practising witchcraft — in public — were to say the least appalling.

During a Mainland Premier League match between Mgambo JKT and defending champions Young Africans in Tanga on Sunday, match referee Alex Mahagi allegedly demanded to check the underclothes of Mgambo JKT player, Mohamed Neto, whom he suspected of having an ‘unusual’ object on him.

Ghana: Radio presenter confirms the use of juju in the entertainment industry

Eric Akoto also known as ‘Golden Boy’, disclosed that there was ‘juju’ or voodoo activities and hatred in the entertainment industry as he has realized. He said most people are using evil spiritual powers to enhance the successes of their works or to bring other people down.

He added that the sabotage is not making the industry grow.

Nigeria: Man beheads father, eats his neck in Ebonyi

Ebonyi State Police Command, yesterday, paraded a 30-year-old Nwode Chukwudi Awam, for beheading his father, Michael Awam, 56, and eating the victim’s neck at Egwudinagu Obegu village in Ebonyi Local Government Area of the state.

According to eye witnesses, “when the police went for him, he was waving the machete which he used to cut his father’s head and threatening to kill anybody that gets close to him.” He was overpowered all the same.

India: Goons chop off woman’s fingers after branding her a witch, police stall probe

Four fingers of a woman were mercilessly severed on Friday by a group of men in Bihar, who branded her witch.

The case of woman harassment was reported from a village in Purnia district of Bihar, from where reportedly many such instances have surfaced in the past.
