The recent discoveries of ritual dens and so called “Baby Factories” in several states have once again raised awareness to some of Nigeria’s most macabre crimes. It is really heart wrenching to find out that, even with the spiralling membership of our pentecostal evangelical missions and constant canard by government officials of immense successes in curbing crime, sinister crimes that strip us of our humanity persist. How Nigeria got to this point where human lives have become objects for a sadistic quest for wealth is incomprehensible.

Nigeria: Teenage Girls Give Shocking Confession During Church Vigil In Enugu State

Some female teenagers came out before the priest at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church, Umushene, Umuida, Enugu Ezike in Enugu State to make shocking confessions of how they have used their spiritual powers to destroy the lives of men through sex.

They made these confessions during a vigil organised by the Okunerere Catholic Adoration Ministries (OCAM) between Friday and last Saturday.

South Africa: Baby Girl ‘Murdered for Muti’ Found Beheaded With Face Taken

The headless body of a one-year-old baby girl has been found in bushes near an outhouse in Britstown, South Africa.The decapitation of Jeynielien Davidene Boks – whose naked body surrounded by dogs was found on Thursday – is believed to be a case of muti murder, related to black magic medicines.

Local police spokeswoman, Colonel Priscilla Naidu, said police were investigating a case of murder after the body of the girl was found.

Uganda: Rwandan Pastor Arrested Over Defilement

Mbarara police are holding a pastor accused of defiling a 14-year-old girl during a healing prayer a session. Pastor Martin Kahira, a Rwandan national reportedly took advantage of his 14-year-old victim  when she approached him to pray for her to heal from epilepsy.

According to the minor whose identity has been withheld by URN, the pastor took her inside his room where he repeatedly defiled her for a week and asked not to reveal the matter to anybody. She says Kahira threatened to turn her into a snake should she dare open her mouth. A medical report shows that the minor was indeed defiled.

Uganda: Woman, Granddaughter Banished From Village Over Witchcraft Allegations

Maria Nabaweesi (66) and her granddaughter Irene Nakalema, a primary two pupil  are stranded at Masaka police station after they were banished from Kyesiga village, for being a witch.

Nabawesi was forced to seek shelter at Masaka police station last Wednesday after she was chased from the village by residents. She was accused of bewitching her sister Beatrice Namuddu leading to her sudden, inexplicable death.

Nigeria: Women are biggest victims of ritual killings

The President of Women Arise, Dr. Joe Okei-Odumakin, on Sunday expressed concern over the high level of ritual killings in the South-West, saying women were the worst targeted.

She also condemned what she termed as the barbaric, crude and bestial handling of women in Nigeria, describing the situation as “grossly unacceptable.”

Nigeria: An Epidemic of Ritual Killings

The scene was almost like that from a horror movie. The stench of humans in various stages of decay hung heavy in the air as skulls and skeletons of dead victims and other body parts adorned the abandoned buildings and environs in what is now described glibly as “forest of horrors.”

There were also the living dead, the abused and deprived, but still managing to hang on to life. In many of the rooms were found abundant evidence of rape and torture.

Tanzania: Attackers hack off the hand of a seven-year-old albino boy in Tanzania to use body part in witchcraft

Attackers collecting body parts of albinos for witchcraft hacked off the hand of a seven-year-old boy, officials said today. The boy was walking home with his friends in Tanzania when he was seized by the men. The boy named Mwigulu Magessa, is recovering in hospital

It is the latest in a series of bloody assaults on albino people. It comes just days after an albino mother of four had her arm chopped off by machete-wielding men.

Nigeria: Police must combat scourge of ritual killings

The unfolding horror at Soka forest, Ibadan, Oyo State, where up to 20 half-dead persons were rescued from ritual killers’ slaughter house, highlights the persistent failure of the Nigerian state to protect its own citizens. The discovery of the death forest right at the centre of a bustling city was remarkable, but it was not the first. However, the government and its security agencies should resolve to make it the last.

Ritual killings occur elsewhere, once in a very long while, but usually involve a few victims. However, in Nigeria, it has become a factory-like operation.

Nigeria: Ritual Killings – How to stop it!

Less than two weeks (March 2014) after the discovery of the forest of horror in Soka, Ibadan, Oyo State where a house was discovered littered with human body parts, imprisoned men and women and a cellar full of skulls and skeletons, a similar forest was discovered in Ogun State.

An underground cell suspected to be ritualists’ operation base was uncovered at Iyana Egbado village in Ewekoro Local Government Area of  the State, evidences  other instances of ritual killings.
