Nigeria: Police Arrests Female Lecturer for Child Trafficking in Anambra, She Uses Babies for Rituals

Despite the hot chase against child traffickers in Anambra State by the Ministry of Woman Affairs through the office of the Director for child development and the security agencies, the people involved in the shameful act have gone scientific in their act as people with even reputable character has joined the bad wagon, just like Mrs. Anthonia Ugwurumba, a lecturer in Anambra State University, Uli, Ihiala Local Government.

Mrs. Ugwurumba was arrested and she is presently helping Ihiala Police Division in  their investigation on her alleged involvement in keeping pregnant teenagers right inside her maternity home along Owerri-Onitsha expressway, Ihiala.

Botswana: Ritual Killing Delegation Meet

A delegation representing a group of Tonota residents who are concerned about ritual killings in their village, is due to meet their tribal leader, Kgosi Ramosinyi Radipitse, this afternoon to voice their grievances.

At the same time, another delegation will deliver a letter to the Commissioner of Police, demanding that the police take action against the alleged killers.

The two meetings follow the failed attempt by the group to stage a demonstration and deliver a petition to the tribal leadership against ritual killings in Tonota.

Kenya: Hands off the elderly, aging is not a crime

It is the wish of everyone to age gracefully surrounded by loving family and friends. Everyone looks forward to a happy ending.

Not so in a village in Kilifi. A list circulated in the village recently, bears the names of 35 elderly people earmarked for lynching on suspicion of practicing witchcraft. If nothing is done to stop these deaths, the 35 will join the list of the aged who have died gruesome deaths across the country. This is worrying.

Nigeria: Plateau Police Condemn Killing Of Minors For Rituals

The Police Command in Plateau on Wednesday condemned the worsening spate of killing and selling of children by unscrupulous people for ritual purposes in Plateau.

The Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr Chris Olakpe, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Jos that killing and selling of minors in the state had become a source of concern to the command.

Kenya: Suspected witch roughed up in Kuresoi

A suspected witch faced a hard time on Tuesday morning when members of the public burnt her house and beat her mercilessly.

The 60-year-old woman, living in Kuresoi North’s Geticha area, was accused of running with ‘fire’ on her head at night and bewitching local people.

The gathering told our reporter that they have been timing the woman for a long time and they invaded her home at dawn to seize her.

South Africa: Father who killed ‘witch’ wife gets life

A Mamelodi father who claimed he killed his pregnant wife in self-defence because she had used witchcraft to kill their two daughters and then turned into a beast-like snake ready to attack him, was on Tuesday sentenced to life in prison.

However, the woman’s father said he was not satisfied with the sentence.

Maldives: Masked men break into school to cut down cursed ‘Jinn tree’

Last night group of masked men broke into Thakandhoo School in Haa Alif atoll after threatening the security guard with a knife in order to cut down what they claimed was a ‘Jinn Tree’ with evil spirits.

“Three masked men jumped over the school wall last night and one of them threatened the security guard with a knife. And while he held the security guard, the other two went in with a hand saw and cut down the tree.”
